shootingstarThe Winston PTO gives out the following awards annually at the Class Day ceremony on the last day of school.

BARBARA BLUMENTHAL AWARD

The Barbara Blumenthal Award is given each year to recognize an outstanding member of our faculty.   The winner’s name is added to a plaque outside the teacher break room and they receive a $200.00 check.

Award Guidelines

  1. This award is for a teacher.  Therefore, non-faculty and members of the leadership or administrative team are not eligible for this award.
  2. The winning teacher is being recognized for having a great impact on Winston students.
  3. The winning teacher is also being recognized for their dedication to Winston students over time.  Therefore, first year teachers are not eligible for this award and length of tenure at the school is often a factor in deciding the winner.
  4. Past winners of this award are not eligible to receive it.  Past winners include:

POLLY PETERSON AWARD

The Polly Peterson Award will be given each year by the PTO to recognize a member or members of the Winston Faculty, Staff or Leadership Team who h been particularly good friends to the PTO.   The winner(s) will be announced on Class Day, their names will be added to a plaque and they will share a $300 award.

Award Guidelines

  1.  This award is for a faculty, staff or leadership team member.  Therefore, parent members of the PTO are not eligible for this award.
  2. The winners are being recognized for having contributed greatly to the success of the PTO during the current year.
  3. The winners are also being recognized for their dedication to Winston and the Winston PTO over time.  Therefore, first year teachers are not eligible for this award and length of tenure at the school is often a factor in deciding the winner.
  4. Past winners of this award will not be eligible to receive it for 5 years.  Past winners include:

2014 – The Maintenance Staff (Mauro Lares, Juan Cabrera, Martin Lares, Adrian Lares and Robert Meadows)
